ABOUT MEAGHAN

Hello there, 

My name is Meaghan, and I spent two decades as an internationally touring singer/songwriter before I decided to follow my heart to officially launch Funeral Singers of Prince Edward Island. 

Since I was a child, I have found healing in the power of music.

Whether that was from writing it, singing it to myself, or sharing it with others, I have always been in absolute awe of the way that music can be used as a tool for connection, regulation and healing.

Growing up, music allowed me to communicate the feelings I could not find words for. It was, and continues to be such a gift to me. 

I always knew that music was healing for myself on my own journey,
but it wasn't until the death of a loved one in 2018, that I saw the power of music for funerals and celebrations of life. How a carefully selected piece of music could synthesize the energies of a congregation, and help family and friends feel connected during life's most challenging moments.​
 

This is what I know to be true: that music is a door to healing.

It has the ability to break down the protective walls we build
around our hearts, and provides a container for us as we exhale
into and move through the grief experience. 

​I feel truly honoured to be able to do this work, and I would love 

to help celebrate and honour your loved one.
